The most recent newcomer to Meseta, Nescafé* Dolce Gusto* compatible capsules are available in four blends: Classico, Intenso, Supremo 100% Arabica and Decaffeinato.
Supremo is a blend of 100% Arabica coffee with special distinctive characteristics, typical of these beans.
Firstly, Arabica beans contain more sugar than Robusta beans; for this reason, 100% Arabica tastes sweeter.
In general, this kind of coffee is grown in South America where, after harvesting, the beans are usually “washed,” or placed in water. They are then periodically moved about to remove the skin from the bean. This process produces higher quality coffee than beans dried in the sun – which, due to the heat, immediately lose some of their properties – and gives the beverage its typical floral and fresh fruit scents, which are found in the Meseta Supremo blend.
In the cup, the coffee has a dark, persistent cream, an intense aroma and a pleasant touch of acidity, typical of all blends made from only Arabica beans. It is a harmonious, elegant coffee, to be sure, created for the most refined palates.
Supremo blend is available in boxes of 16 capsules and each pack contains 6 boxes, for a total of 96 individual capsules. The capsules are self-protected, so they can be exposed to the air and perhaps placed in a practical capsule case.
